KAUNAS SIGHTS & ATTRACTIONS - What to See & Do
The remains of Kaunas Castle, Kaunas Cathedral, the Old Town Square, cobbled streets and hidden alleys will be the first things to see and enjoy as you wander around Kaunas.
For rainy days there are plenty of museums to see, some quite unusual, such as the Devil Museum (which contains 2,000 devil and witch figures from around the world!), the Museum of the History of Lithuania Medicine and Pharmacy and Povilas Stulga's Museum of Lithuanian Folk Instruments. There’s also a Zoological Museum if you want to see some stuffed animals, while abstract art is on display in the M.K. Ciurlionis State Art Museum.
Also hop on a bus for a short ride to the informative but depressing Ninth Fort Museum which features exhibits on the suffering of the local Jews during World War II and later the deportations of Lithuanians under Soviet rule.
